The Director
Artist Statement
".. It was clear that between the world's circus, dance and storytelling was my home.... Where either as an audience member experiencing a sense of wonder and awe or as someone training or unlearning their mental and physical boundaries THIS is where people's minds were changed of what IS possible ..... and this could happen only because of their shared experiences in a safe space ... Specialty Casting Director & Choreographer
Circus Performer
Growing up in Buffalo, Angela’s ambition was to become a dancer. After graduation from Boston Conservatory with a BFA in choreography and dance she moved to NYC, where she began a professional career in dance, performing both nationally and internationally. During this period, she trained in circus and aerial arts and in the process found her artistic vision in the spaces where dance, aerial art, circus and theater meet and where a community exists of unparalleled trust and communication. This unbridled sense of human connection and artistic performance led to her founding The Muse, an immersive experiential performance space in Bushwick in 2011. The concept was to craft works that were not only multi-sensory and magical, but socially conscious and life changing. The goal was to build a performance that was not simply about watching the story unfold but to be part of it. These moments of connection create a pivotal experience that defies categorization, one in which the space between audience and performer is broken and reality and fantasy blend into an existential moment that changes everyone present long after they leave the venue.
