Welcome to ABCirque— A Community Built on Circus
Hi there! Whether you’re discovering us for the first time or have been cheering us on since our days as The Muse, we’re so glad you’re here. For those who don’t know, ABCirque has always been part of The Muse family—the teaching arm of a space that became a beacon for circus arts in New York City. Today, as we carry on the legacy of The Muse, ABCirque stands stronger than ever, bringing the same passion, creativity, and community spirit to everything we do.
At the heart of our story is Angela Buccinni Butch, our founder and fearless leader. Angela has spent over 30 years living and breathing circus, building connections, and creating opportunities for performers of all backgrounds. Her dream has always been to make the circus home for everyone, and that dream continues through ABCirque.
We pride ourselves on the values that set us apart: fair wages for artists, inclusivity, and the belief that no one should ever be turned away from learning and growing in the circus arts. Over the years, students, performers, and clients have told us how much they appreciate our professionalism, which means the world to us.
ABCirque isn’t just a company—it’s a family. It’s a place where creativity thrives, connections are made, and the magic of the circus transforms lives. Whether you’re here to watch, learn, or perform, we can’t wait to share this journey with you.

We provide a welcoming and respectful space for everyone—contractors, employees, students, and instructors—regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, identity, education, or ability. Green Initiatives
At ABCirque, our commitment to eco-conscious practices remains as strong as ever. Continuing the values we upheld at The Muse, we prioritize sourcing and reusing materials, props, and staging for our classes and productions. By creatively repurposing items, we reduce waste while bringing sustainability to the forefront of our work. Why waste when we can innovate and reuse?
Our Impact
At ABCirque, we’re dedicated to making circus arts accessible to all. Every year, we create meaningful employment for over 50 artists, train over 2,000 children, and engage over 5,000 adults in joyful, creative experiences that foster connection. Our sliding-scale tuition ensures that financial barriers never stand in the way of personal growth or artistic expression.
As a multigenerational home for circus arts, we nurture the next generation of performers while preserving traditions and encouraging innovation. Through mentorship, education, and captivating performances, we build a thriving community where seasoned artists and young talent grow side by side, keeping the spirit of the circus alive and evolving.
